Introducing Fiddlefern Fjord

One of the conditions of me buying my rights back to my books was that I strip it of any branding related to the publishing company. This included the fictional region it was set in as it was one of three regions where all books published by them were set.

If you’ve looked for them, you will have seen that you can’t find the ebooks online, and the paperbacks might show as unavailable.

So what’s going on?

I’m Heading to Heartwood Hollow

I’m Heading to Heartwood Hollow

If you’ve traveled to Heartwood Hollow, either recently or back when it was self-published, I hope you love it and the townspeople. It’s been three years since I started writing this series, and everyone there is very special to me.

Although firmly rooted in fiction, the town itself is inspired by one of my favorite places. Joanie’s love of marshmallow rice treats from Leafs and Grounds? Definitely stems from my own love for them.

In a few short days, I’ll get to eat one again for the first time in just over four years from the coffee shop that makes them better than anywhere I’ve ever had them. I’m hoping that a trip to the town that inspired Heartwood Hollow, and a hefty supply of marshmallow rice treats to bring home, will power me through my edits of Book 4.

I’ll be sharing pictures over on my Instagram, so make sure you are following me @WriteRosiePease.

Although you can no longer get When the Cat’s Away, I’m happy to say that Catatrophe on the Road will be coming out on its own soon.

Where did they go?

Where did they go?

Hi Everyone!

If you’ve tried searching for any of the Matchmaker’s Grimoire books recently, you may have hit a snag. They aren’t there.

So what happened?

Heartwood Hollow has been sucked into a magical portal and has been transported out of New York and into Maine.

What does this mean?

Whiskered Mysteries, the publishing house run by cozy mystery author Molly Fitz, has agreed to publish my Matchmaker’s Grimoire books, but there were a few stipulations. One was that I move the story to Maine. It means a little bit of editing for me as I take out the small New York references and add in Maine ones, but that’s totally fine. What makes me really excited about this is that these books can now exist in the same universe as my next series. Joanie and Meredith (the lead to my next series, which is also contracted by Whiskered Mysteries) can officially be friends and reference one another, even cross over into each other’s books if I want.

In fact, they already have. If you’ve read Coffee and Calicos, you’ve met Meredith. She’s the barista friend of Joanie’s who tried to get Joanie to drink iced coffee. You’ll catch some references to Joanie in Meredith’s books as well once they come out. I’m excited by how much more I’ll get to do now.

The obvious result of signing this series over to Whiskered Mysteries is that I can’t have them published under me anymore. So the ebooks are gone. The paperbacks too. I retain large print rights, so those are staying under my control (although I’ll move them to Maine as well for consistency).

I don’t have a timeline for when the books will be back out, but I’m starting the revising of them today to get to the WhiskMys team as soon as possible so that I can get on their schedule with editing, covers, formatting, and publication. I will for sure keep you all updated. As such, Muffins and Mediums has had its preorder pulled. I’m sorry for the postponement, but it will come back, and you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off. Outside of the Maine references, there will not be major changes to the books that come before it.

In addition, this contract has been signed for NINE books and does not include the prequels at this time. There is a lot of Joanie and Heartwood Hollow to come, and I can’t wait to share it with you all.

Thank you so much for your understanding, and although I know some of you will be bummed out over having to wait for your next Heartwood Hollow fix, this will be so good for the series in the long run. I hope you stick with me.

Until next time, take care,

Rosie
